Don't focus on the family..focus on the man. This is a struggle I have- which may never get resolved (look up passive-aggrasive, thats my mother-in-law) but I LOVE my man and that all that matters. And just like our own families- we didn't get to pick siblings, parents, aunts and neither did our men. Make no apologies either- they are who they are...and you love the man that evolved form that family.
Just call it like you see it and remember Cowboy is the one you love. But when it gets real bad call me and we'll have coffee. My mother in law lives across the street and my husband is one of four boys. I know how bad it can get.
oh hun.. we ALL deal with it in some form or fashion. You're dealing with mixing families here. Wouldn't it be great if everyone got along great and all personalities went along together and we all had the same values. Yeah.. that doesn't happen! Like the above comments say.. focus on that wonderful man of yours and remind yourself of why you love HIM so much! There's always alcohol to get you through family gatherings!!
