Weekend Express

The last time I laughed out loud in the theater was probably Forgetting Sarah Marshall but that is a pale comparison to Pineapple Express. You are constantly laughing throughout the entire movie.

I must’ve missed half the other jokes I was laughing so hard. Was it just me or did it seem like the longest running movie ever? I really felt like I was in the theater for 3 hours and that’s not a bad thing when it came to this movie. James Franco I heart you but all I wanted to do was throw a sudsy sponge at the screen for your much overdo shower.

If you love to laugh, go see it. If you loved any of the Seth Rogen comedies, go see it. If you’re going to the movies any time soon, you should see this. Moving on, I spent half my weekend in San Antonio and the other half here doing a baby shower.

I think I should split my weekends between two cities more often – it sure did stretch out some and made me feel like a jet setter. San Antonio. Jet setter. That’s just funny to me.

In SA town, I had a michelada for Beverly at her favorite spot, the Mariachi Bar at Mi Tierra. Yes – the food is just food. Nothing to write home about. And I think they should step it up in this area, this restaurant is huge and I think it has so much potential if the food was something to rave about. But the michelada was awesome.

I stayed the night in a historic hotel, I won’t mention it because I know this place has a really good reputation and people may throw stones at me for even suggesting the stay was not good. I’m huge on hotels, I like staying in them. I’m even bigger on historic hotels – they are so super cute.

This particular one has always had my eye, even when I lived in SA. I never ever stepped foot inside it before. I must say, they just need a restoration of the place. I like the old stuff but it needs to be polished and revamped a bit.

Of course the trip would not be complete without visiting some friends. I spent the day with them and we ate lunch, had ice cream, watched Pineapple Express and then had wine and cheese back at their home. It was a very fun-full day.

Back in Dallas land…baby shower hosting. I have come to enjoy the baby showers. I think this is because I am now ready to have one of my own. Baby and shower. Lately, I’ve noticed the mothers and babies a lot more in public now and they are not annoying in the least bit.

Crying babies on planes used to make me want to throw the Spirit magazine at said baby. Now, I sit back and daydream if it were me with crying baby on plane. My baby would not cry on planes. I have the secret on that one. But it still makes for a nice day dream. On the plane ride back – the cutest woman had the cutest baby boy, Conlon. What’s up with baby names nowadays?

It seems like moms are trying to out do each other for best unusual name. Lately, all the babies I know that’ve been born are named with something not of the norm. Don’t get me wrong – I am loving it. I love a name that’s not popular. I have a name that’s not popular by any means. At least not on this continent.

As I laid down to bed last night, I got to brainstorming over baby names. Think I may buck trend and go with a classic vintage type name – something along the lines of Pearl but not Pearl because that’s my mother’s name, but you get the idea.

My ABS were sore yesterday morning after seeing "Pineapple Express" Saturday night! I couldn't stop laughing! Did you have a favorite scene? Mine was probably when Sol ran at Rosie Perez screaming "F the police"! I. Loved. This. Movie.

I think even some of the classic vintage names have gained in popularity. Though I haven't heard of too many babies named Pearl. As for me, I don't like the baby names that sound way too made up. It just seems way too forced at that point.
