Sooner or later I’m going to need to stop working out or start making French fries my only diet staple. I’ve been asked why do I hit the trail and eat salads everyday? And why on Earth am I starting a no carb diet. And the latest shocker, “A pole dancing aerobics class, are you serious?”
Yes. I am.
For starters, I run everyday mostly just to feel it. Back in my college days I never worked out and I think it was a result of having to run 5 miles for two weeks when I was on the high school swim team. I hated working out. Post college, I was a hit and miss work out type of person.
Honestly, I never did it unless someone asked me to join them as a guest at their gym.
Today, I run mostly for the high, not the exercise. I think I’ve hit a plateau with it and its not really affecting any weight loss over here anymore. So, I’ve added strengthening and dancing to the mix. Everyday, I get up and run about 4 miles, then I do some toning exercises for about 15 minutes and then I dance for another 15 minutes. That’s why I fall asleep at bars.
I eat a salad everyday for lunch because it’s the easiest thing for me to transport. I’m not really a sandwich person. If I forget my lunch – I splurge on a baked potato from the cafeteria. Baked potatoes are my food love. I may average about one or two a month because that’s how many times I forget to make my lunch. I cut up all the salad ingredients for the week on Sunday night and place them in individual Tupperware-like containers.
This way, each morning, I have a build a salad/ salad bar to compile my lunch. It’s quite fun.
Yesterday, I started a no carb or should I say limited carb diet because I’m hitting San Antonio on Friday and there is no way, believe me, no way. I plan to eat no breads or pastas or desserts (eek) for the next 2 weeks. This is to reinforce the toning I’m doing, I need to build more protein into my diet and less carbs in order to get the abs showing. And why? Because we are going on vacation in a month and a half and I hate having to think, “suck it in, don’t turn that way, don’t sit this way” while on vacay. I want to look good at the pool.
For the latest and greatest: pole dancing class. Not just for bachelorette parties. There is a gym here that offers an aerobics class catered to this new exercise phenomena. I’m taking it. Why? Because my boyfriend is coming back in less than a month and he needs this.
The only reason why I should consider stopping all exercise activity and start eating French fries non stop is because of that wedding I’m MOH in. Saturday I took the dress to the tailor. When I was first fitted for the dress, I was let’s say about five pounds more than I am now. We’re taking the dress in A LOT. There will be no time for me to take it in again; so whatever size I am now for the dress, is pretty much the size I need to be in three weeks.
But, I’m still carrying on. We’ll see.

Pole dancing? Really? Let me know how it goes. I'm sure it makes for a good workout.
That sounds like lots of fun! Certainly more than working out the old fashioned way. I'm a little worried you'll start toning up and be too small for your dress!
